Birthright: 100 Days That Shook the Swamp
As I watched the idiocy unfold around the world, I thought, “How lucky Americans are to have a government that works for them, rather than against them!”
Imagine living in Spain, sipping your sangria and eating your paella on the beach, only to have your entire power grid go down?
Romantic? Yes. Convenient? No.
What’s worse is that the Spanish government is denying that its idiotic net-zero policies were the cause.
If solar panels don’t work in Spain, what chance do they have in England? I’d say a non-zero number awfully close to zero! But that’s what His Majesty’s Government is trying to do right now. Yesterday, Scotland’s last oil refinery shut down, leaving the UK at the mercy of the current Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero and long-time Village Idiot Ed Miliband.
And get this: British scientists are experimenting with techniques to block out the sun as part of a £50 million government-funded scheme to combat global warming. In England? I lived there for nearly ten years and never once bought a pair of sunglasses.
Even if the UK shut down every machine and appliance in the country, China would wipe out all the “climate savings” in two years, according to none other than former Prime Minister and war criminal Tony Blair.
But that’s nothing compared to the self-inflicted wound the Canadians gifted themselves two days ago. The Canadians, blessed beyond belief with oil and mineral wealth, voted for Mark Carney, a former governor of both the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England, a former UN special envoy for climate action and finance, and a long-time World Economic Forum (WEF) globalist.
Canadian energy sector CEOs sent a letter to federal candidates, including Carney, during the campaign, asking for changes such as the elimination of the federal emissions cap and the repeal of the federal carbon levy on large emitters.
No word yet on whether Carney would continue the decade-long Trudeau tradition of kneecapping Canadian oil companies.
So let’s be grateful this morning. America’s leader loves America and Americans.
Did The Washington Post Inadvertently Tell the Truth?
Good friend and Paradigm Press colleague Bob Byrne posted this WaPo chart on the editorial Slack channel two days ago:
I responded to this, “For my money, I think his first 100 days are disappointing, the economy is worse, prices are going up, and he’ll almost certainly cause a recession. But I don’t care and would still vote for him. And I bet most of his voters feel the same way.”
America hired him to do a job. It’s not an easy one, and it’ll cause a ruckus along the way. Has he been perfect? No. Is he working for America? Undoubtedly.
What has he done well? I’ll give you three things.
3 Things Trump Got Right
1. Immigration Enforcement and Border Security
If he does nothing else in his term, The Donald has irrefutably made the country safer.
President Trump implemented tight immigration policies aimed at reducing illegal border crossings. These measures included the reinstatement of "catch and release" policies, the resumption of border wall construction, and the initiation of mass deportations. These actions led to a reported 95% decrease in illegal border crossings. Let’s give Tom Homan, the irrepressible Border Czar, a big round of applause, too.
2. Executive Orders and Deregulation
In an assertive use of executive power, DJT signed over 140 executive orders within his first 100 days—more than any previous president in the same timeframe. These orders targeted various areas, including the rollback of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, the withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement, and the restructuring of federal agencies.
Again, killing DEI alone gives you the price of admission. Leaving Paris is a bonus. However, he needs to codify these EOs in legislation, or they may be lost the second a Democrat is elected President.
3. Obliterating USAID
Nothing has made me smile more than the intentional demolition of USAID.
Dismantling USAID was central to The Donald’s “America First” agenda, rejecting the globalists’ nation-building and the entrenched Blob. USAID was a bloated arm of the Deep State that wasted billions promoting progressive goals abroad while neglecting problems at home.
By gutting it, Trump aimed to end the era of aid in favor of transactional deals that delivered direct benefits to the United States. It also sent a strong signal to his base: no more taxpayer dollars for foreign elites, while American infrastructure, jobs, and border security were left wanting.
Again, if this were all he did over four years, it would’ve been enough for me.
Wrap Up
In tomorrow’s Monthly Asset Class Report, we’ll go over the charts to see where the markets stand after The Donald’s first 100 days. It hasn’t been smooth sailing, but he’s getting done what needs to get done.
Have a great day ahead.
